What does dress tell?
By Carol

Clip to ScrapBook
I am a big one on image and I feel 'teacherish" when I dress in the way that I consider proper. I don't dress up. A skirt and blouse or sweater, low shoes. In the cold weather, depending on the classroom, I add a vest, sweater or jacket. I want to look "put together".

I firmly believe that the casual look tells the kids that is the demeanor that is desired. At least for me, this is what happens. When I am dressed down, I feel inside much more relaxed and I think in the classroom, I want to portray a person worthy of respect. This does not diminish the opportunity for warmth to the children. It does seem professional.
