being recognized
By Cathy-Dee

Clip to ScrapBook
I think the philosophy of being careful what you say and do because you never know who might be listening is a good one to try to follow. Of course we don't always follow this, but I'm sure many of us have been in that situation
where you are talking to a friend or colleague about a situation or another staff member when they walk in the room and overhear part of the conversation. It's never a pleasant situation. And regardless of whatever handles one chooses to use on boards such as this one, if your situation is very unique and others from your school visit the boards then it's likely they will recognize
you. I've recognized a couple of people from my area, but I don't worry about it.

I think if we are truly professionals then we shouldn't be worried about what we say. I've never seen anyone use names of students or families or colleagues in their posts. The idea is to get advice and help for situations you are not sure about or even angry about.

But it is a good thing to think about and remind ourselves to try to be somewhat cautious in our posts and responses to ensure we stay within the boundaries of the professionalism of our profession.
