I agree that the teacher should do the initial plans. Then the sub should do the plans for the remainder of the time. However, in our district subs on leave do not get paid regular teacher pay. They only get sub pay. They are required to move to a different position after the 15th day so they can't get teacher salary. I think that stinks! Here they are doing the prep and everything that is involved and they don't get the full benefits.
