rubrics and graphic organizers

If you give each item, the same value, then aren't you losing sight of the most important aspect of the writing. Writing the heading which is important is not as important as the use of vocabulary. I have always assigned different values to each section, depending on the goals of the assignment.

Venn diagrams are one of my favorites. As you saId, these organizers demonstrate how the children think and I find that the Venn is an I pareasy and clear one to see what is going on in their heads.

Do you use any of the sequence charts and do they work? I have only tried them once and my class obviously needed more practice using them.
