I love the part about having them repeat the directions to you. It serves two purposes. One they hear the directions again and the teacher does not say them. Two, children have a way of explaining things more clearly than we do since they share the language. Although, I would not do this too often because that too would defeat the reinforcement of listening the first time. I also make a point of writing on the board, page numbers, if they are doing math examples or a grammar exercise from the text. Then if someone asks, I just point and after a while no one asks. There is no reason not to make it easy for them, when this is possible to do. Carol
