bumped
By Carolyn

Clip to ScrapBook
My understanding from your posting is that "bumped" means you have lost your job to someone else, so you have to seek employment elsewhere. I understand the feeling of being out of a job. In my case, I found myself without
a job once because of budget cuts, although I am sure this isn't as frustrating as being removed from your job to have someone else take over it. My concern for this coming school year is that I may get bumped out of my current school by a teacher who has more seniority. Sixth grade will be moving to the middle school next year from our current elementary school. We have one sixth
grade teacher who I know is going to bump me out because she has been there so many more years than I have, and she doesn't want to move. I am already trying to get used to the idea that I will either have to move to another elementary school in this or another district, or move to middle school. (Yuck!)

If it makes you feel any better, this sort of thing happens all of the time.
