Thanking teachers
By Mary

Clip to ScrapBook
Jennifer, please correct me if I am wrong, but I sense almost a tone of bitterness or animosity towards teachers in general on your part. It is truly wonderful that your Mom was able to give you the kind of background in
your home-schooling that allowed you to be so successful in your chosen profession. As an education professional, I applaud anyone who is willing and able to achieve such an outcome. What concerns me about your postings, however, is the under-current of negativity that seems to come through towards those of us who continue to dedicate ourselves to educating young people in spite of the
many challenges and insults that we face every day. I'll repeat what I said in my first posting, we keep coming back because we truly believe we can make a difference in the world by helping children reach their highest potential. Your mom did it for you. We who work in public and private schools try day after day, year after year, to do this for other people's kids. Sometimes we succeed, sometimes we don't, but it's not for lack of trying on our part. And most assuredly, it's not because of the money.
