book reports
By Tatum

Clip to ScrapBook
I forgot to add that another reason I do not give a lot of the "at home" book reports is that some kids get total parent help on them and it isn't fair to the kids who do them on thier own. It is hard to grade b/c some
kids do not do it themselves. It becomes, "Oh my, Mrs. Smith got an A on this and there is not evidence that Suzie did this at all!"

In my opinion monthly book reports is way too much...They are constantly doing a project. As soon as they finish one another one is coming due. The kids do not get a break and it can lead to a stressful time at home. If the kids are reading
and completing a log, and then doing a letter or some type of response, a project becomes busy work. I am not shooting anyone down at all here, so please do not take offense...Can some of you explain why you do a monthly book report (project) ...it seems like too much for an elementary school kid to do independently. I am totally up for hearing others' opinions.

Remember, I am not using a "tone" or being rude here, so be kind to me. I love all my PT friends!
