Yes, this is basically the way it was at our school. Our principal told us during the week before last that we should have a conference with parents about retentions to be sure that the parents understood our decisions to
retain. Of course, we were also supposed to have had conferences about this prior to this time.

Another thing: We didn't have child study meetings to help gain support for the kids until just recently. For this reason, the child study process will have to be carried over into next year, which hurts the kids. I think it would have been better if we had had all of this completed by

the end of this year, with the kids ready to start school with their new accommodations, or whatever it is we have to do for them to help them succeed. I think one problem was that our guidance counselor was only part-time and this is a small school.
