let it go

Clip to ScrapBook
Emily,

These things happen. It is probably best to just let things "blow over." The year is almost over, and by next fall, all will be forgotten. If what was said between this teacher and parent bothers you then talk to
the teacher (which you already have) and the parents involved and request that confidentiality be respected. We all open our mouths and insert our foot at the most inopportune times--we learn from it, we grow from it, and we become more mature in the process. It's one of the bumps in the road of life--we all make mistakes--it won't follow you forever. I was in a similar situation once many
years ago. The teacher involved and I just didn't see eye to eye on many things. Now we are great friends and the whole incident served as a stepping stone. Let it slide, life is way too short and all will work out. So relax, enjoy the end of your year, relax during the summer, and start off on a fresh note in the fall. I hope you don't think I am minimizing your problem--it definitely is a problem and very important to you, but don't let it dampen your teaching career! Enjoy your weekend.
