I still don't understand By still curious

But I still don't understand, if you homeschool your child, then why on earth would they need to attend a field trip with a class they are not part of? Naturally, when you homeschool you are the child's chaperone and you| can bring siblings along because YOU are in charge of the arrangements, liability, and costs. I don't, however, understand what benefit a field trip designed for fourth graders would have to three or four year olds. Very simply, if a child is NOT part of the class that is taking the field trip, then the child should not be allowed to go. Perhaps if you could explain your rationale for letting | | younger siblings attend a trip that they are not part of, it would make more sense. We have already been down the "distrust" of staff road, so that rationale isn't acceptable, especially since you homeschool. To those who may offer the rationale that it is a really great trip and you want all of your children to be part of it, that also doesn't make sense, because then you should partake of that excitement as a family on family time and not school field trip time. So, please, ohgetreal, I really would like to know why, if you homeschool, you think siblings should be allowed on field trips. Furthermore, if you are so disillusioned with the whining that occurs in our profession and on this site, then please browse elsewhere. If you read the rules for use for this site, you will see that it clearly states that this board is for professionals (see Tip #8). So if you want to join in the discussion as a professional, then please treat us like professionals and stop criticizing the profession and why you took your child out of public education. (Please disregard any typing errors--sometimes my fingers move faster than I'd like).
