    Clip to ScrapBook

We just read that story last week. The kids loved it. As I introduced the literary elements we applied them to making our own story.
We took a sheet of paper folded in half hotdog side, than opened it and folded it hamburger style and one more time - where you have 4 quarters -next we folded one end to the middle and the other end to the middle. On the outside of the booklet we wrote Title, Author, Illustrator, Characters all on left side - on the right side we included setting, problem, solution, ending. On the inside we drew a picture from the story on top and on the bottom half we wrote a summary using the Who, Wanted, But, So, Then - hope you understand it. After we did this I wrote the Who, Wanted, But, So, Then on the board and they were to make up their own story. They really loved it and we had some great stories. I know I'm a little wordy, but hope you understand.
