lucky you!

Clip to ScrapBook
Lucky you that you have taught in a school that long and now seek something different--out of choice. I envy you, and I wish I could make that statement. Since I began working (this is my fourth year), I have been reassigned
twice due to budget cuts (not to my choice of schools), quit an awful job, and been nonrenewed. I sometimes wonder how I keep going on.

Moving to a new school does have its challenges. If you switch grade levels, as I have each year, then you have to collect new materials and create new lessons and activities. Maybe after 10 years on the same job you would like that. I have changed

schools enough to know that each principal likes things done differently. One principal will tell you to do lesson plans one way, for instance, and another will give you other requirements. Before switching, you might want to consider if what you have right now is really something you want to give up. You may find that you won't like your new school as much as your old.
