I used to coach USS and high school swimming before I had kids, and then became an elementary teacher. Parents are the reason I quit coaching. There's an old joke among swimming coaches (who beat out Little League parents for the most difficult to work with, I swear) - the best coaching job is in an orphanage. Seriously, you have to truly know you are doing the best job for your athletes, because rarely will the parents tell you that. My vindication came 3 years after I quit coaching and moved. I saw an old swim team parent who told me "we didn't know what we had when we had it." Yea!!! Finally...
