It sounds like it can be a few different things, but all the same, good question. Maybe the teacher with better behaviors in her/his class...has a better relationship with students when she/he isnt yelling. I have noticed
that students who respect their teacher and view them as caring and loving have a much stronger tendency to listen when they need them to. The class make-up could be a factor, but usually good classroom manangement skills can be effective with most students.
You've brought up a really interesting question bc thats something really hard to measure. I know personally, with students who
have very forceful parents, they either totally listen when you raise your voice or could care less bc they are immune, so to speak. I try not to raise my voice, I personally havent found it effective, but to each their own. I think that when students feel that the teacher is genuinely interested in their lives, and who they are they will have more respect. I dont know if it helped, just thought Id give you my thoughts!
