I feel the same....almost By ab

Hi, I read your post--and I don't have any advice. I'm in my first year and when I read your post--I have some of the exact same feelings. Except, I don't feel like I'm accomplishing anything. My school is really bad as| far as behavior, opportunities and such--but it's those kids that my heart goes out to and as much as I love those kids and long to help them, it's becoming physically and mentally impossible for me to be there. Is that what you were talking about? If it is, I'm glad I'm not alone. I took this job because it was guaranteed--it's a shortage area--there were like 6 openings when I came. | | And they pay for grad school IF you stay for 3 years. But I'm barely making it through one. Plus it's an hour away from my home. I'm really struggling--I start out each day with good intentions and ideas, but they're so hard to accomplish. I come home exhausted and doubtful. I want to be a positive to the kids, but I hate being in a school system where there's no support from principals and parents; no nurse, music class, p.e. no anything to give these deserving children opportunity. You said you feel like you're making a difference...How do you gain your accomplishment? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated....sorry I'm not any help--just venting too...
