Master/No Masters

I work in New York state and all teachers are required to have a Masters within 5 years of teaching. Many students go right on to get their masters out of college. I think it brings them in with additional theory and knowledge to handle certain situations. They are also more mature once they are around 24 years old. I tell all my student teachers to go right back to school to get their masters. I guess in New York state it's not that big of a deal to have a masters degree because you are required to have one. they only pay us(in my school) an additional $400 a year for having it.
