Here are a few ideas, hope they help. And before I forget, enjoy your new school and classroom.

- with tables - buy little plastic baskets - I like the solid ones - pencils don't get stuck in them as easily. Have all
their pencils, erasers, etc., be kept in these little baskets (hopefully you can find one shelf or cupboard to store them when not in use). This allows you to control what is on the desks (some students have gigantic pencil cases which do not work well with a table setting). And when you don't need the baskets - i.e. group work, manipulatives, etc., they can be put away.

- for the

walls - blue sticky tack. Only the blue is worthwhile buying, the white stuff does not stick very well. I've heard of teacher's using rubber cement as well (but you want to test it first in case it could damage the paint).

- a listening center, a reading corner, I also loved having one corner as a "quiet" corner where either students who were having a bad day could sit, or a student who just wanted their own time-out from the hustle and bustle of the classroom.
