Be Careful What You Wish For By G.M.

First, I would like to thank Julianne and Michelle for sharing their experiences. Your responsed truly helped!!!Secondly, I would like to respond to J.L.'s response. J.L., I don't think there is anyone better than I who| knows what it feels like to want to resign. To say that I was 'miserable' just doesn't begin to describe how I felt while teaching a few months ago. However, now that I am resigned, I feel just about as miserable as I was teaching. I think I am suffering from a lot of self-doubt, even though I realize that I was given a very tough class to begin my teaching career. It's not easy staying | | positive. I recently interviewed for a supplemental reading position and bombed the interview. My self-doubt was so apparent while answering the panel's questions. I am not a good actress; I can't hid how I feel usually. So anyway J.L., be careful for what you wish for!It most likely feels unbearable for you right now in your current job; however, resigning is not always the best answer. My suggestion is to reach out to other teachers for help. Don't let silly pride get in your way. Ask for help. Keep asking until you get it. I gave up much too soon. I stopped asking and stopped seeking solutions. Another thing, remember all you can do is your best. Take time out for you and remember your current class will pass on through, slowly but surely. I wish I had the power to change things for you, I really do.Take Care, G.M.
