    ABC Math - Scattergories variation

I give them all a sheet with the alphabet and their math textbooks (for those that need the support). I give them about 15 minutes to come up with and write down all of the math words they can think of. (It's also a great opportunity for me to show them the glossary and index and how to use them.) Then we go through the list. Every word they wrote that someone else found, they have to cross off. The winner is the one with the most words left. In the past i've also done the activity where you assign each letter of the alphabet a numeric value and they then figure out how much their name "costs." Then they can try to find $50 words, $100 words, etc.
