Hi Sharon,

I think what you need for this demonstration are three bowls of water: one very cold, one very hot and one a comfortable temperature. You put one hand in the cold bowl and the other in the hot bowl and wait a minute. Then, place both hands in the bowl that's supposed to be the comfortable temperature. The hand that was in the cold bowl will feel very hot and the hand that was in the hot bowl should feel very cold - it does kind of make you jump! It's actually quite a strange feeling!:-)
