The building is not yet open

It takes me a full 5 days to set up my room. We have no free time once school begins. Although I am guilty of volunteering my time, it often makes me wonder what the district would do if NO teachers went in to school until the first day we are paid. Would they change their tune and begin to pay us to set up the room?
