Last year I did an ocean theme with my 4th/5th grade class. 1. "Exploring the Oceans" by Anthony Fredricks this book was awesome! It had a great deal of information as well as some excellent hands on activities across the subject areas. For fun we made jello cups....where we made blue jello with gummy fish in them. We made wave bottles with 2/3 full of blue water, and 1/3 full of oil..these are great. We made stuffed sea creatures out of brown grocery bags which we stuffed with newspaper and hung from the ceiling.
