Cell activities
By Jennie

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach 5th grade, and a few different things we have done is as follows:

Cell model: Use a styrofoam ball cut in half, use different colors of clay, sequins, and beads to represent the differnt parts. The students can than make a drawing and label the parts.

Cell cookies: We made cookies and used differnt ingredients to represent the different parts. We than used nuts, M&M's, and candies to represent the nucleus, cytoplasm, etc.

Also, you could make cell models using a ziplock bag and the use different materials such as peanuts, dried beans, and bird seed to represent the parts.
