    I have leveled bins ... the Foutas and Pinnell way ... and I also have an area in my library where they are sorted by theme/character/etc.

    I think kids need the opportunity to go to a bin where they know any book they choose, they will be able to read. As adults, we can read pretty much anything, but that is a skill we have mastered.

    My students have to choose 4 leveled books and 4 choice books to keep in their bins (we bookshop once a week), so they need to have access to both kinds of organization.
