One of the best parent nights my school ever had was a Maths night. As teachers we set up various activities around the room. These activities were similar to those that we did in class. All materials were there. The children went around with their parents doing the activities. It showed the parents the sort of things we now do in maths. Last week I had my parents in for a learning journey with their children. We did a smartie exercise. The children love showing theior parents what they can do. The parents don't feel threathened because they can do the exercises. I am sure you could do the same with science.
