AT the beginning of the year all new students and kindergarten students get a web site permission form to fill out, parents can choose if their child can be on the school/class web site or not. It stays in their file as long as they are at our school. A master list goes to all teachers of students who are not allowed on the web. Parents are informed that the status will stay that way unless they request a new form and change their mind and sign. As far as videos for college projects or research or other reasons, I always send home a note to my parents explaining what I am doing and if I have their permission. I also send a copy to my principal so she is aware of what I am doing. If you do not have any sort of permission slip or policy at your school, I would highly recommend you start one, as it could save you a big headache in the future.
