We do both types actually. We have the meet and greet before school starts and then the first week we invite them back w/out their children and go through the rules and procedures for our grade. I do have a powerpoint that I go through, but I stand at the front and use it as my talking points ~ I don't read it to them and I leave the lights on. ;)
