in the same boat

I am a student teacher now too, and your story sounds way too familiar with mine. But, I realized that although I am not a boring and stuffy person, I am a nervous person. I think being yourself is a good idea, and try to think positive. I keep telling myself that when I have my own classroom and the added stress is not on me by being a "guest" and having someone observe me all the time, my true personality will shine through. Those kids will see the real me - and I hope it's not boring! Be yourself and keep your chin up. We're all unique individuals and unique in our teaching - don't compare yourself.
