I went to a local carpet store. I told the owner that I was a teacher and that I needed a carpet for our class reading area. His donating a remnant would help kids fall in love with books. . .he let me have my choice!

Also, you can purchase "sit upons" (cushioned squares for each individual student) from The Really Good Stuff catalog. I have had mine for 5 years, and they are just as nice as the first year I have them.

Last, Lowe's sells a trio pack of coordinated rugs for a reasonable price. I found them at the end of the carpet aisle in a box. There were 3 patterns from which to choose.
