Here is one other to get you started: Get a koosh ball or hacky sack ball and toss to the kid you want to read, answer, etc. Makes Q&A time a little more fun, yet you are still in control. You could even have the kids raise hands and let the previous answering child pick the next volunteer...only rule, no one gets hit, and if anyone has to leave their seat to fetch a ball, GAME OVER.
