Well, when I did my field experience, I bought my co-op some books for her class (she taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grade social studies in an inner city school) as well as some little teacher books and her favorite candy. She really appreciated the gifts. I am planning to buy my current student teaching co-op a gift before I leave in 2 weeks. He is a 4th grade teacher and always wears the coolest ties...so that is one thing I was thinking of getting him. I think that your teacher will appreciate anything you give them...and I am sure they will not think you are kissing up...in fact...you could always wait to give them the gifts until after they do your final observation and write a letter of recommendation.
