Welcome to your first introduction on how different teachers handle different things! I would have done just as you have, because it is very important to me to make sure my students feel safe and welcome. I wonder if she just ignores is because sometime it can happen a lot and it takes to much time away from classtime learning. I should not think that you'd look bad if that is how you handled the situation in the future. Your coop should realize that you will do things differently. Perhaps asking a professor or your supervisor some advice would be the right way to go. Look at it this way...in a few months you'll be on your road to having a room of your own, and then you can do it your way! Best of luck!
