a few questions to start with

I completed my practicum last Spring, and cannot emphasize enough how important it is for you and your cooperating teacher to have a clear understanding of your role in the class - in the beginning, does she want you to jump right into an instructional role, or passively observe for a few days? Are you going to be implementing the discipline system when needed right off the bat(and do you know what system she follows) or is that something you'll ease into?

Other ideas: how far in advance would she like to see your lesson plans, does she want everything you do formally presented or can you jot down outlines, does she have any preset curriculum that you'll be following in certain subject areas...perhaps this stuff is set with your ed department, but otherwise it's good to get her ideas (because I asked, I was able to slide through with only typing out the full plans when my supervisor was scheduled to observe). Ask her if she has anything she'd like you to prepare in advance - hopefully, she'll know the grade level by your meeting, and then you can ask more specific questions about what you need to brush up on.

Good luck! My first meeting with my cooperating teacher left me terrified (of her and of the prospect of teaching) but after getting started, we found a great balance in our styles.
