student teaching

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi there. I finished my student teaching in May. If your experience is similar to mine, you can expect to learn so much!!! It's a wonderful time to play a variety of roles: you'll be observing, teaching and assisting. I think
your responsibilities will depend on you. I was not expected to teach a full lesson the first week, but toward the final weeks, I handled the entire day. Believe me, it was exhausting, but so rewarding. I gradually took over simple tasks, like morning routines, lunch counts, etc. This really helps to set the pace. One rewarding aspect was that both my cooperating teachers treated me
as a teacher. They also informed the students that I was a teacher and that when I was teaching a lesson, they are to give me the respect that a teacher deserves.
