I teach in Colorado, for 6 years now. I am actually a native. I love living here because of the weather, scenery, people, and my family is here. Summers are hot, but usually only really hot for a couple of weeks. Spring and Fall are a variety, snow one day, 85 degrees the next. Winters tend to be mild, but we have had a few heavy storms the last few winters. There is plenty to do here also as far as outdoor activities as well as things in the city.

The job market depends on the area. In my district there were some openings but not as many as in past years. In the districts around me one experienced a big teacher layoff this year while others were still hiring. Of course depending on your level jobs may be more prevalent. If you are secondary there are usually a fair amount of jobs. Also if you are a specialist of some sort: ESL endorsed, special ed, reading specialist you will also have an easier time finding a job.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. I would be happy to answer them.
