*for years, i have used tickets for XC--if kids turn in something that they didn't have to (or few kids did) or on days when i have extra time during a lesson and do a quick "pop quiz" review---i'll write my initials (in cursive, hard to replicate) on a ticket and that equals 1 XC point. kids can staple to upcoming tests or assignments. (the initial keeps kids from just finding tickets and using them....or stealing mine) i tell them (as with other paper incentives) to write their names in pen on the back (this helps with lost/traded/stolen tickets).

*last year, since i had a movie theme, i purchased 4 rolls of different colored tickets and when kids were extra special (assemblies, fire drills, especially SUB DAYS), they received a ticket---different colors for different quarters (i'm so sneaky!) if they earned 10 in a quarter, they got to come in at lunch for movie time!

*my students all have binders and in those binders are planners (trackers, agendas...). inside the front cover i heavy-duty tape a library pocket. in this pocket goes a behavior card for the week, and it's also where i suggest they keep their classroom currency and tickets. (they also all have pencil pouches--this is another good place to save.)
