student teaching

Clip to ScrapBook
Oh, boy do I know how you feel! Just two years ago I was in the same situation. First, relax about the evaluation. No one really looks at it, and if it's not positive, you don't need to show prospective employers! It's
more of a tool to help you see where you can improve. I totally agree with Cathy Dee about sitting down and talking with the other teacher. You may be surprised at what's eating away at her, if anything. She is sure to give you lots of great suggestions.
It sounds to me like you were scared about this grade level in the first place. It may not be your cup of tea, but once you
get into it, you'll love it! Can you talk with any other student teachers at your school? I know your cooperating teacher would be more than happy to sit down with you and go over your lesson plans before you teach them. She has a trained eye, and can spot potential pitfalls immediately.
Try not to feel so nervous. Know that you're going to be a great teacher someday, and take it day by day.
