Student teaching AND being a mom!
By Cheryl

Clip to ScrapBook
This must be the semester for being a mom and a student teacher! I am also 36 years old and I have one week left of student teaching. Although this has been a fun semester,(I'm teaching 1st grade)It has been a rough and rocky
road. Usually I am very anal about my work. I've made several mistakes this semester that I hope are not costly ones. It is very hard to student teach all day and have college classes at night or on weekends, (I have both night and weekend classes) and have children. After being with 19 1st graders all day, I come home to 6 KIDS! No that is NOT a typo! I have 6 kids! My only advice
is to try and set some time for yourself. As hard as that may be, you NEED to do it. I became sick about 2 months ago and never really did anything about it.Now I have a severe ear infection and have lost my ability to hear in my left ear,(Yet to be determined if any of the loss will be permanent). Although I hate it, I have become very selfish with my needs and my time at home. I have an enormous amount of work to be done and it's hard when 6 kids all want something! I am lucky to have a fantastic husband. Keep pushing~ we are almost there and how sweet it will be when we are finished!
