I swear this sounds like I wrote this paragraph. I am student teaching 5th grade and classroom management is the toughest thing I have. Your situation is the exact same as mine. So I am not doing many fun things with them right now. They spend their recess with me (as a whole class), if they do something wrong. I know it's not fair to the good kids, but I'm hoping that peer pressure would work on the bad kids. Keeping them busy is what I've learned. They always have some sort of activity to do, whether it is a journal writing activity, a worksheet, or just reading a book. They need to keep themeselves busy, yet without talking as much as they do. Good luck.
