Hi, just adding a few thoughts and thingsI've used or seen.

Here is one I made up-
    Discipline board:Ranch with.....

Green Pastures (good behavior) Put little laminated horses with their names on the following according to behavior and have them move them as needed.)

Corraled( into a scene with corral-warning area)

lassoed-a roped off area of the corral scene (you decide ..recess, free time, etc.)

The lasso could be the worst or you could have one more .........Branded!

Cowboys loved a campfire. You could make a fake camfire with gorilla glue to glue a few logs and sticks together on sandpaper( to look like dirt) Brush a few fire colors, some neon orange, etc. on the wood Add a blue old time cofee pot that you can puchase in the camping section of Wal-mart, Target, etc.Use a native American themed or Western themed throw and rollit up, tying with rope for a "bedroll". This could be used for varios activities. Another nice touch would be a cast iron pot or Dutch oven(you can find plastic onea at Halloween). In the pot could be lots of beans for counting activities. The coffee pot could be use for drawing names, storing dice, etc. This would be a good area for morning meeting, calendar time, story time etc.

When students are working, let each have a bandana square.(You can just buy a yard or so of bandana material to save money.) A bandana square on the desk means "I need help".

For an outside bulletin a chuck wagon theme. "Chow down on.........(whatever) EX: "Chow down on these Great sentences.Yee-haw!"

"Howdy, Class ! Get Ready for the Learning Trail!"
    (Student names )
change to " We're on the Learning trail!" after a day or two with latest great work.

Cattle drives had scouts that went ahead and tended to business, checked out trails, etc. Helpers could be called "scouts".

Bunkhouses were where the hands rested, played cards, and relaxed. They even did a few light chores like clean their boots.(Cards would be used for math games in this case!)So, centers could be called bunkhouses...bunkhouse 1,2, 3...or Blue bunkhouse, red bunkhouse, etc.)

I'm thinking of lots more, but I'm late fixing lunch!
    EXCUSE TYPOS!

Have incentives for those that stay in green pastures.
