Non Verbal
By Jenny

Clip to ScrapBook
I don't know if you would really consider this nonverbal or not, but it works! When your class starts to get loud while doing group work or just when you need everyone's attention, just say in a very low voice,"clap once if you hear me." Usually only one or two students hear you and clap, then that usually gets more students to look up and pay attention. Just repeat 2-3 times and it is usually complete silence and you NEVER have to raise your voice. The kids love it too.
