I am also doing a 60's groovy themed classroom this year! One catchy thing I did was to name some important bulletin boards using song titles and placing the name of the recording artist/band and the year the song became a hit in the bottom most corner. everyone who has walked into my room loved it. i certainly hope my students do!

Here are some of the titles I am using:
"Feelin Groovy" about Science and Soc. Studies - Harper's Bizarre 196?
"Oooh Baby Baby It's a Wild World" - cat stevens, 1970
"One Fine Day" in History - The chiffons, 1960
We use thinking maps as a strategy, so I called the bulletin that displays all the thinking maps: You gotta "Think" about what you are trying to do in here....Aretha Franklin, 196?
You Say it's Your "Birthday" -- the Beatles, 196?
The Scientific Method..."It's Your Thing"...the Isley Brothers 196?
"I Feel Good" about my work....James Brown, 196?
