full time mom returning to working world.. By Ritu Lebouef

I just had my substitute orientation. I quit my full time corporate job to be a full time mom for my 2 kids 4 years ago. Now, that the kids are well settled into full time school and doing very well academically, I feel quite qualified to be a sub. I don't even have a 'teaching experience'! You should do great with all the teaching background and as a full time mom I'm sure you've gathered even more patience, understanding and love for other kids (and creative ways to handle them!) I have come across a few ex-teachers who love being subs. Your prior class room exprerience will come in very handy. As | | a short term alternative you might want to take up some other part time temporary (even if un-related to teaching) jobs for a month or 2 just to get you used to getting ready and out of the house at fixed hours. That's what I did and it worked great for me. Best Wishes...
