Awesome Day!

Clip to ScrapBook
I truly prefer junior high to other grades. You are dealing with young adults, and if you treat them as such, I find them very responsive. The best advice I've found on the upper grades is in Louanne Johnson's (she of "Dangerous Minds") books, "Two Parts Textbook, One Part Love", written for teachers, and "School is not a Four Letter Word", written for parents. I use her example in that I always write my name on the board followed by "your sub who loves you". It always gets a laugh and gets us off to a good start.
