After I was placed on the list I went to the schools I was going to sub for, introduced myself to office staff where I would check in the mornings, and collected necessary papers: bell schedule, holidays, and rules.

I placed a business card (small colorful paper so they can't miss it) stating I was a sub, which grades, what days I was available, and phone#, in the teacher's mailbox.

It was a good thing I went and introduced myself to the staff because they didn't have an updated version of the list. I wrote my name down and that's why I got the call - the teacher told me she figured since I was last on the list, probably it would take me a while to get a call. She was happy because I was free to sub for her.
