Not only is it unfair for a substitute to have to grade things (especially without a key) but it is COMPLETELY unfair for a student to have their work graded by someone else. Usually a sub is unfamilar with that teachers grading system and many times right or wrong is a judgement call that subs may not be qualified to grade. I have a BFA but that in no way qualifies me to grade 11th grade pre-cal homework.

Sometimes I ignore this rule though, especially since I only sub for elementary levels. I mean it doesn't take very long to correctly figure out that 4+2=6. And it doesn't take long to help out the teacher. Hope this helps.
