I Empathize
By Been There

Clip to ScrapBook
I too have had days like you mentioned (the feeling like nothing works-not the family issues). All I can say is that in retrospect I realize that the kids feed off my uncertainty and uneasiness. Even though I don't think I am doing it sometimes I come off more negative than I mean to be. When, on the other hand, I am truly happy and comfortable I can feel them feeling my energy and working with me. I think that any time you are worried or defensive it comes across to the kids. This was obviously a situation you tried to avoid and you know that it was not ideal. I would not worry about it too much. Sorry I don't have any profound advice for you. If anyone else has some I need it too.
