In my district you are only required to do the teachers duties (bus duty, hall duty, lunch duty, etc) These do NOT include meetings. HOWEVER IF YOU ARE A LONG TERM SUB( more than 12 days at my school) you are expected to take on the role of that teacher, that includes all meetings. workshops etc. My district has a substitute teacher meeting every semester. In that meeting we recieve a handbook that includes everything expected of the sub. You may want to check and see if your school or district has one. Mine lists everything for me... How much I would make if I subbed for an aide position verses teacher pay, how I should dress, how many earings I'm allowed, and what is expected of a substitute teacher.
