"just a sub"

Thank you "just a sub": without you I cannot take a day off to stay home with my sick child, without you I cannot attend that conference that updates me on standards, without you my students' learning cannot continue without interruption, and without you, I cannot rest easy that my classroom is in good hands while I am absent for the day. So, "just a sub", the next time someone says, "oh, you are just a sub," do what I used to do when people said that to me: "No, I am not just a sub, I am a certified teacher working in so and so's classroom today." Good luck. Personally, I think we would be lost without you!
